THE DOLDRUMS PREMIERE!!! I animated and directed a music video for The Mammals’ new release, The Doldrums, which premiered on The Bluegrass Situation on November 21st. I used painted animation, video collage, and mixed media animation to create a dreamy atmosphere rooted in the landscape of New York’s Catskills region. Starting with a collection of cell phone videos (modern-day home movies) from Mike and Ruth, I wove together a visual poem with moody colors and bleeding textures. Inspired by fighting Depression through building community and chosen family, my video for The Doldrums might make you cry, or inspire you to sing along.

I was the Animation Director for More Than Blue, a documentary illuminating the experiences of women with postpartum depression and perinatal mental health conditions. Directed by Julie Marchesi, produced by Barak Goodman of ARK Media, and conceived and executive produced by Dr. Lee Cohen at Harvard and MGH Women’s Health, the film aims to shed light on these conditions and help women and their families cope. It provides education and hope for healing. We hear from experts throughout the film, and first-hand accounts from the mothers who’ve experienced these treatable illnesses.
